DIY Makeup Brush Cleaner

Get Excited!  Get SUPER Excited!  Did you know makeup brushes can harbor bacteria, fungus and all kinds of unsavory gunk?  Let’s talk about cleaning makeup brushes…

It's really easy to clean makeup brushes at home without using toxic chemicals.

Here’s 3 simply ways to keeping makeup brushes clean.

Swirl your makeup brushes around in the coconut oil and lemon mixture. The makeup will immediately pull out of the bristles. Rinse brushes thoroughly with warm water and dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. Set out on a clean cloth to finish air drying.

Mix two parts antibacterial dish soap to one part of the extra-virgin olive oil on a clean plate (don't use paper plate, as the oil will seep through). Step 2: Grab your first brush and wet it slightly with lukewarm water. Make sure the brush stays bristle-side down throughout the entire process.

Another way to scrub makeup brushes clean is to use liquid dish soap and a clean sponge. Pour a little of the dish soap on top of the sponge and then rub your brush against the surface. And again, rinse with lukewarm water, wipe with a towel to remove any leftover debris and lay your brushes flat to dry.
