How to Apply Liquid Eyeliner

Great Day! With liquid eyeliner, there is never a need to use a sharpener!

Prepare your eyelid by applying eye primer and eyeshadow. It is much easier to apply liquid eyeliner correctly when there is already a cosmetic base because it creates a smooth surface.

Select the color of your liquid eyeliner. Liquid eyeliner's purpose is to create fullness and thickness in the eyelashes, so choose the same color as the mascara you plan to use for a more natural look.

Steady your hand and gently lay the tip of the felt applicator onto your upper eyelid at the base of your eyelashes. Move along your lash line slowly, creating a smooth line. Do not pull your skin because when it relaxes, you will not have a smooth line.

Line your upper lid as close to the lash line as possible, using small, short strokes. Since you may have an unsteady hand or your brush may tickle your lashes, causing you to blink, its best not to attempt to make one long line with your brush when first learning how to apply the liner. Some people line their eyelids with their eyes open, while others apply the liner while their eyes are closed -- it simply depends on which way is more comfortable for you.

If the line tends to look irregular, simply correct any mistakes with some eye makeup remover on a cotton swab. If using the applicator is still difficult for you after several practice sessions, you may want to try an eyeliner brush to apply your liquid eyeliner.

Sassy Short Haircuts

Great Day! Many women love short hairstyles because they are easy to style and take care of. Busy moms and executives alike appreciate attractive short styles that can be dried and styled in under 15 minutes flat. If you are thinking about going short, take some time to view photos online and consider which short style best suits your face shape, there is nothing more eye-catching than a sassy, short haircut.

When considering a short hair cut, bear in mind that it does take a very long time to grow out should you decide that you do not enjoy it as you hoped you might. Other than the confidence and sophistication, short hair cuts are notoriously easy to maintain. Find a haircut that fits your face and when styled with minimal effort, still looks good. A pixie cut requires little to no maintenance aside from possible a little gel or pomade for reshaping when necessary. A bob or more graduated cut can take a little mousse for volume and smoothness and five minutes with a blow dryer.

A Simple Way to Apply Concealer

Great Day! Concealer can be worn on its own or on top of foundation. Applying base reduces the amount of concealer you need, but you can skip foundation if you prefer. Concealer can be smoothed on top of eyelids after foundation as an eye makeup primer. This creates a base for eyeshadow so that colors appear more pigmented and last longer.

Here's a simple way to apply concealer:
Gently dab concealer under eyes with your ring finger, which exerts the least pressure of all your fingers. Make sure you get some product as well on the inner corners of your eyes by the bridge of your nose, where shadows are cast. Blend the concealer into skin by lightly patting, not rubbing, to eliminate demarcation lines.

For blemishes, invest in a stiff concealer brush that helps with greater precision during makeup application. Stipple the concealer onto the blemish. Do not use rubbing motions, as these can erase the product you've already laid down. Still using the brush, stipple foundation around the blemish to smooth away any hard edges.

Using a makeup sponge, lightly press translucent powder on top of concealer to keep it from budging.

Solve Your Winter Skin Problems

Great Day! When the weather turns from sunny and mild to cold and blustery, our skin often turns too -- from supple and hydrated to cracked, flaky and ashy. In the winter we usually need to switch from lighter moisturizers to more intensely hydrating ones, right? Here is how to winterize your skin.

Pamper yourself by moisturizing the skin. Soak in a warm bath for 5 minutes, and then add a few drops of jojoba or olive oil to the water. The oil will help to seal moisture in, which can prevent and protect against dry skin. Also, adding moisture-infused products to our skin will help hydrate it. Apply cream or body lotion to damp skin once you have had a bath or shower. This can help to prevent dry skin.

Use a humidifier in the house to keep humidity in the air. A humidifier is one of the best ways to help winterize your skin.

Exfoliate your skin several times a week to remove dead skin cells. A baby brush or clarisonic brush work well to exfoliate skin.

Always wear sunscreen when you are outdoors. Sunlight even when it is dim can create skin problems.

How to Create A Natural Eye for The Daytime

Great Day! If you are looking for a way to do your makeup for a natural daytime look, here's a few simple tips can get you started.

Select eyebrow pencils and eyeliners that match your hair color for the perfect natural daytime look. Apply color to your eyes and brows sparingly and rub in the color with the tip of your finger or a soft makeup sponge.

Choose blushes and eye shadows in natural tones. Avoid colored eye shadows such as greens, blues and purples as they work better for a night on the town. Instead, choose browns and natural pinks which match your skin. Blush should be applied sparingly, as rosy cheeks create a healthy, natural look only when applied lightly. Always begin with a light amount of blush, again, working it well into the skin and applying more only if necessary.

Finish your daytime look with a natural colored lipstick or even a clear or slightly tinted lip gloss. Make sure the color is not too bright, sticking as close to your natural lip color as possible. For a daytime look, don't use a lip-liner pencil; simply reapply your lip gloss or lipstick as needed.
