Hooded Eyes Hook
Never use a dark eyeshadow over the entire lid, because it makes it appear heavier and will close in your eyes.
Don’t highlight the browbone too much, because doing so can accentuate the hooded appearance of the eyelid.
Application:
Highlight shade: Apply to browbone and along the upper lash line.
Midtone shade: Start at the base of your upper lash line and bring the color up and over the entire hooded area. This helps the lid recede. Make sure to blend the areas where the midtone color meets the highlight color.Contour shade: Start at base of the lash line and bring the color up and over the hooded area. For this eye shape, you need to bring your contour color in a little farther and up a little higher than on the other eye shapes. This will help the hooded area recede. Next, sweep the contour color underneath the lower lashes to define the lower lashline. You don’t want to miss this step! Hooded eyes really benefit from a well-defined upper and lower lash line.

Classic Hollywood Look
Makeup Needed:
Black Eye Shadow
Black Eyeliner
Gold Eye Shadow
Red Lipstick
Red Lip Liner
The ultimate old-world charm and glamour, the classic Hollywood look can incorporate bold colors and heavy makeup without
appearing overdone. How to Get the Classic Hollywood Look?
Outline your eyes with black eye shadow or black eyeliner. Don't make the line too thick, but do go all the way around. If you're new to the look, go very easy on your bottom lid. Thicken the line at the
outside corners of your eyes and roughly the outside half of your eyes. Don't put anything more on the inside corners. Then, swipe gold eye shadow on the inside corners and any part of your lids untouched by black shadow. This will glam up and even out the look.

Next, choose lipstick and lip liner in a red shade with a slightly dark tint to it. Color in your whole lip with lip liner, and then swipe the lipstick on. This will prevent feathering out and fading.

When! How! What! Eye Primer
Urban Decay!
This miracle eye shadow primer is unmatched by any other in the beauty industry! The genie in
this bottle fulfills three wishes: eye shadow that lasts, more vibrant and lasting color, and absolutely NO creasing. The formula is full of silicone, which you beauty mavens know makes for a smooth and silky applicationHow to Apply:
Apply Urban Decay Primer Potion to lids before shadow application. It dries down almost instantly (and invisibly), creating smooth lids that are super powered eye shadow magnets.
Make sure your hands are clean and open the bottle. Apply a glop on your eyelid with the wand. The secret to applying this product is to blend it on your eyelid with your fingertip not the applicator. Use your fingertip to evenly smooth the product all over your lid and up until you almost reach the brow bone; use a little extra product if needed.
Repeat on the other eye.
Now you may want to apply just a little to under your eyes. This step is optional; you only need to do this if you will be applying eyeliner or eye shadow under your eyes. For this step take the wand and apply an extremely small amount on your fingertip. Drag your finger under your eye. Don't use too much it will look crusty if you do.
Allow to dry! This takes about 4 min for the product to fully dry. Look at your eyes every now and then as it's drying to make sure it's drying evenly. It can actually crease as it's drying sometimes, it this starts to happen gently blend in.
Tips: A little goes a long way! Apply a thin coat and let dry, then apply Eye shadow as you normally would. Then DARE it to crease. (Double-dog dare it, even!)

Highlight/Contour Your Look
Pro
ducts Needed:Bronzing powder
Powder blush
Highlighting powder
Foundation
Translucent powder
Makeup brushes
1. Apply a foundation that matches your skin tone. Blend foundation well at the jaw and hairline until there are no visible lines.
2. Dust your face with translucent powder.
3. Suck in your cheeks to locate your cheek bones. Brush a small amount of matte bronzing powder under the cheek bones. Add bronzer to the bridge of your nose and at the temples. Blend all areas of bronzer well.
4. Brush blush onto the apples of your cheeks. Pull the blush back towards your temples, making the line of brush narrower as you get closer to the hairline. Blend the blush into the hairline and the bronzer using clean fingertips or a clean powder brush.
5. Use a lighter shade of powder to highlight your face. Brush highlighting powder on the bridge of your nose and around the outer corners of your eyes. Add a touch of highlighter to cheek bones, your chin and the temples.
6. Blend all of the cosmetics well so there are no harsh lines. Use a clean brush for the best blending results.

How to Highlight Eyebrows with Makeup
Great Day! Readers… If you love reading my blog subscribe right now by entering your email address. As my niece states’ sharing is caring. So, today I’m going to share with you how to highlight your eyebrows with eye shadow. Eye shadow is the easiest product to use for highlighting the eyebrows because it doesn't clump or mat the brow hair. Mascara and eyeliner can also be used to create a defined look. Try these simple steps to enhance your eyebrows.
1.Pick an eye shadow color similar to your eyebrow or hair color. Remember that eye shadow appears one shade darker when applied.
2.Apply the eye shadow to a small, angled makeup or liner brush.
3.Brush the eye shadow onto your eyebrows, starting near the center and working toward the outer edge.
4.Focus your attention on thin areas of your eyebrow, such as the outer edge and the underside of the brow. Use firmer brush strokes to apply more makeup on these parts of the brow.
Until next time…free feel to leave a comment. Have a fantastic day! Corinne

Bridal Beauty: Makeup for the African-American Bride

Great Day! If You Luv Makeup & Beauty readers. Sharing is caring so here’s the best colors for African-American skin tones and how to properly deal with common problems so you can be wedding-day gorgeous.
Finding Foundation
In general, foundation that has yellow undertones is the most flattering, but if you have very dark skin, a foundation with a slight blue cast works best. If you have medium-toned skin, choose a foundation with a red-yellow hue. And if you have light skin, look for a soft golden shade.
Pick Three
There may be variances in undertone on different parts of your face so it's a good idea to have three foundation shades -- light, medium, and dark -- on hand to allow for the different gradations of color. Many African-American women are darker across the brow and chin, and slightly lighter on the cheeks. Use the light foundation as your under-eye concealer and to lighten a dark forehead or chin area. Use the medium foundation as your all-over color to correct spots of varied pigmentation. Use the dark foundation to even out the lightest areas of your face. You can also experiment with a bronzing stick to bring down the lighter tones of your face.
Getting Cheeky
The key with blush is to avoid anything that looks ashy or pale on your skin. Lighter skin tones look pretty and most natural in dark bronzers, though apricot, rose, and soft pink also work well. Medium to dark skin tones look best with deep blush hues like dark rose, currant, and plum.
Makeup, then Kiss
In general, the darker your skin tone, the darker you can go with your lip color. Burgundy and blackberry are beautiful on dark skin. Women with medium skin tones look pretty in currant or red, and those with light skin look best in low-voltage neutrals and glosses. If your bottom lip is paler than your top lip, you can even them out by applying a sheer, dark lipstick to your lower lip as a base, then sweeping the same lipstick over both lips.
If you want to have very full lips that don't require too much enhancement, avoid bright, attention-getting colors and stick to quiet, flattering shades instead, like caramel and soft brown. Perfect for kissing the groom!
Until next time...
