HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR SKIN TYPE

Get EXCITED!  Get SUPER Excited!  Let’s talk about skin type…did you know there are three skin types?

Your skin type depends on how much water is in your skin, which affects its comfort and elasticity.  Also, how oily it is, which affects its softness.  The three skin types are dry, oily and combination.

Normal Skin Type
Not too dry and not too oily, normal skin has:
No or few imperfections
No severe sensitivity
Barely visible pores
A radiant complexion

Combination Skin Type
Your skin can be dry or normal in some areas and oily in others, such as the T-zone (nose, forehead, and chin). Many people have this type. It may need slightly different care in different areas.
Pores that look larger than normal, because they’re more open
Blackheads
Shiny skin

Dry Skin
You may have:
Almost invisible pores
Dull, rough complexion
Red patches
Your skin is less elastic
More visible lines
Your skin can crack, peel, or become itchy, irritated, or inflamed. If it’s very dry, it can become rough and scaly, especially on the backs of your hands, arms, and legs.

Oily Skin Type
You may have:
Enlarged pores
Dull or shiny, thick complexion
Blackheads, pimples, or other blemishes
Oiliness can change depending upon the time of year or the weather.

No matter what type of skin you have, these tips will keep it looking its best.
Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB rays.
Avoid direct sunlight and wear a hat and sunglasses.
Don't smoke.
Stay hydrated.
Wash your skin gently but thoroughly every day and never wear makeup to bed.
Moisturize.

Now that you know your skin type, you can choose the best products that will deliver a healthier, more radiant complexion.

5 Steps to Flawless Skin

Hey Everybody!  Get Excited!  I'm back with another blog.  Did you know using a foundation brush is excellent because they insure you don't use too much product?  Let's talk about how to obtain flawless skin...

Here's 5 Steps to Flawless Skin

Tip 1: Primer your skin
Using a primer is like wearing a slip under your dress…it smooth's everything out and hides your imperfections.

Tip 2: Know your skin type before selecting a formula
Foundation comes in all forms, and should be selected based in skin type. Drier skin types should wear a moisture-base formula. Oily or acne-prone should wear an oil-controlling formula. A natural, mineral-rich foundation is great for any skin type.

Tip 3: Choose the right tools
Applying foundation is a personal preference and each method creates a different finish. For liquid foundations, using your finger creates a sheer look, while the Foundation Brushes produces a very smooth seamless finish. For powder makeup, use the Round Buff Brush for even, all-over coverage.

Tip 4: Apply concealer over foundation
Applying concealer over foundation allows for better coverage and prevents the concealer from getting swept away. Using a full-coverage formula will instantly conceal dark circles, lines and wrinkles, while reducing puffiness and redness.

Tip 5: Set your look with powder
Powder is a great way to complete your look. Keep it very light use a fluffy Powder Brush to dust a lightweight formula.

3 Ways To Keep Makeup On All Day

Hey Everybody!   I'm back Get EXCITED!  Did you know exfoliating is the key to prepping your skin for makeup application?  The smoother the surface, the more even it can be applied and last longer .  Let's talk about 3 ways to keep makeup on all day...

  • Moisturize - For oily skin, buy an oil free or gel moisturizer, and for dry skin buy a more nourishing one. Make sure to get a moisturizer with at least SPF 15 in it to protect you skin from the sun, or a separate SPF 45 if you live in a sunny place. If you are older, you can use a moisturizer with anti-wrinkle properties.
  • Prime your face using a good primer is the one way to lasting makeup all day.
  • Use an eye primer it makes your eye shadow last longer and prevents creasing in the lid. A liquid concealer can work also.

How to Get Even Skin in 30 Seconds

To get even skin in 30 seconds try a Cream-to-Powder foundation. Cream-to-Powder foundation is a cream and powder all in one makeup which should provide lightweight natural coverage, glide on like a cream with a velvety powder finish and have a soft, creamy consistency that blends easily.

The Skin You're In

Great Day! Thanks for stopping by. The first step to great skin is TLC. To break it all down to help you achieve your best skin ever here are a few ideas:

Dry Skin
The surface, dry skin face tends to be one of the most manageable skin types. However, this type of skin is very prone to wrinkles at an early age.

Exfoliate. Flaky skin that lies on the top of dry skin blocks the beneficial ingredients of your products from reaching the cells where the real work begins. Lactic acid is good for dry skin, it’s a gentle alpha hydroxyl acid.

Oily Skin
Generally have more hyperactive sebaceous glands on the face. If you need blotting papers two hours after washing, you’re oily.

A skin care routine with drying agents doesn’t stop the oiliness-it can strip the skin not only of its oil but of its normal, resulting in more oil production. An oily skin care regimen must contain a balance of sebum-fighting ingredients that don’t compromise the natural moisture balance.

Combination Skin
Many people fight oil and clogged pores on the T-zone area-nose, forehead and chin-and dryness on the cheek. Oatmeal, soy and green tea is good for combination skin. Also, dimethicone is a non-pore-clogging emollient great for combination skin as well.

Use lightweight serums and follow with an oil-free moisturizer with sunscreen.
